I guess most of us have a memory of racing toy cars across the living room floor. Operating those remote-controlled cars was like a real-life Grand Prix race. Well, at least it was for me. Now, Vrombr is the latest title by French video game publisher, Polyptik, which is set to bring those memories alive.
Vrombr is an AR racing game that lets you control real-life remote-controlled toy cars right from your phone. It gives you a front-row seat to the action through a camera embedded in the car itself. It blends real-world racing with high-quality graphics, which is something I’m sure you’d love to experience.
In Vrombr, you get to dive into four race modes. Chrono mode is where you aim to complete laps in the shortest time possible. Arena mode lets you unleash your inner demolition derby driver, crashing into opponents to rack up damage points. Endurance mode tests how many laps you can complete in a given time. And Versus mode is a straight-up race to the finish line.
You get special perks with each mode as well. For instance, Nitro boosts in Chrono, Ram in Arena and golden lap in Endurance. The tracks are just as varied. You get the Urban Track for GT-style racing, Bumpark where you can go wild in a Truckster, Speedway for high-speed thrills with a Speeder, and Vortex, which challenges you with numerous twists and turns using a Formula V.

Vrombr is like the first-ever remote reality racing game for smartphones. You can hop online and go head-to-head with racers from all corners of the globe. All cars are 1:10 scale, equipped with cameras that feed real-time footage to your screen. And there are even sensors that detect collisions.
Vrombr is free to download and comes with in-app purchases. Exactly how budget-friendly their toy cars are is something I’m yet to catch up on. They’ve partnered with some pretty dope modules to make the experience fun. Names include Quectel’s RMU500EK and RM520N-GL 5G.
If this sounds like a fun game,
