Games services firm Universally Speaking has hired industry vet Andrew Brown as its new CEO.
Brown has worked in the games industry since 2006 when he joined Activision as UK managing director. He would go on to be VP of UK, Germany and European Commercial Strategy, SVP of the Americas and finally SVP Strategic Projects. In 2015 he left the firm and rejoined the games industry in 2018 as MD of Keywords Ventures, as well as chief marketing officer of Keywords Studios.
Brown is replacing Vikki Peggs, who founded Universally Speaking and was its CEO. She will remain as a non-exec director and advisor to the company's board.
“I am honoured to join Universally Speaking in the role of CEO,” Brown said.
“The expertise, passion and drive I have witnessed already from the staff across our business is inspiring. I am excited to work with our talented team to continue the successes of the past and build pathways to continued growth in the future.”
Peggs added: “As founder of Universally Speaking 18 years ago, I could not imagine the amazing journey the company would undertake. Growing from a small business to a company that employs hundreds of people in over fifty countries, I have been humbled to have been part of that success.” She continued, “Andrew is the perfect appointment, with exemplary leadership and vision that will challenge and empower our talent, driving the business forward for years to come.”
