Twitch Streamer Boggles Banned For Shoving Forks In A Toaster

Twitch streamers are known for doing some pretty wild stuff, some of which gives the platform real headaches over what to do about them. One such streamer is Boggles1, who you may know due to a video of his going viral over the past few days, which appeared to show the streamer sticking two metal forks into two toasters and exploding as a result.

It was revealed shortly after his video went viral on Twitter that Boggles staged the whole thing and wasn't actually stupid enough to try and kill himself for Twitch clout, but that hasn't stopped the platform from dishing out some punishment for his actions. First spotted by esports reporter and YouTuber Jake Lucky (thanks Kotaku), it seems as though Boggles has been banned for 30 days due to "suicidal or self-harm behavior".

Lucky posted a screenshot of Boggle's Twitch email earlier today, which starts out by explaining that the platform is "concerned" about him. In addition, Twitch has removed the content in question, explaining that it violates the company's Community Guidelines, and has provided Boggles with resources aimed at providing mental health support.

Boggles claims in a reply to Jake Lucky's tweet that he had an appeal rejected, but respects Twitch's decision in regard to the ban.

While it may seem like an over-exaggeration on Twitch's part, what with the video being staged, it makes a lot of sense for the platform to nip this in the bud before it potentially becomes a very dangerous trend. It shouldn't need saying, but sticking a metal anything in an electrical appliance or outlet is an extremely dangerous thing to do, and something that could potentially kill you. Twitch obviously doesn't want to be seen endorsing that kind of behavior.

Twitch is also probably very aware that streamers often have young and impressionable audiences, and all it takes is for one kid to stick a fork in a toaster to see the platform land in a whole heap of trouble. While it may be acting under the guise of concern for Boggle, it
