Total War: Pharaoh takes players back to the Egyptian New Kingdom.

The next Total War game has been announced, and it'll be here this year. The next entry in the long-running and popular strategy game series is called Total War: Pharaoh. It takes place during the Egyptian New Kingdom period and is set for release in October 2023 for PC.
Game director Todor Nikolov from developer Creative Assembly said in a statement that Ancient Egypt is an iconic period of time, featuring «political intrigue, cataclysmic events, and grand war campaigns.»

You will become the pharaoh and need to save Egypt from collapsing during the Bronze Age. «It is up to you to either survive or fade into history,» Nikolov said.
«As the leader of these great nations, you must overcome societal collapse, face natural disasters, and fight to protect your people against invaders from far off lands,» reads a line from the game's description.
Total War: Pharaoh features eight different faction leaders who stem from three cultural hubs, and each has their own unique playstyle and unit rosters. Some of the roles include diplomat, commander, and warlord.
In terms of locations to explore, players will visit the river Nile, the deserts of the Sinai Peninsula, and the Anatolia mountains. Players will see thunderstorms and sandstorms that affect how battles play out.
