LEGO fans are going to need a bigger boat, as LEGO Ideas team has revealed that a will set sail soon.
The news comes as the LEGO Ideas team released its latest review round video. For those unaware, LEGO Ideas is a way for fans to develop their own LEGO ideas. If they get popular enough, ideas have the chance to be made into an actual LEGO set.
In the video, the team revealed that just two of the 36 creations reviewed this time around would be converted into sets; the Jaws set is one of them. While the final set is not finished yet, the prototype photos promise some iconic things making its way into the set.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Jaws LEGO set without an actual shark, which is built out to be just as large as the LEGO Orca — the fishing boat that appears in the film. Three mini-figures also seem to be included: Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and Quint (Robert Shaw).
Currently, no release or pricing information on the set has been made available. As LEGO still has to finalize the build, some things are also subject to change. However, it’s likely that the two biggest aspects of the set — the Orca boat and the shark itself — will remain.
Jaws originally released in 1975, and is based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. The film was directed by Steven Spielberg, and is widely regarded as the original summer blockbuster.
