Annapurna Interactive to publish new title from Kyoto-based Marumittu Games
Annapurna Interactive will publish Project D, a new title from Marumittu Games, the Kyoto-based developer behind Captain StarONE, the company announced.
“For this game, we used the works of Rutger Bregman and Yuval Noah Harari as reference for thinking about humanity in the future,” co-founder and artist Hiroco Shiino said in a video featurette. “The game takes place in a future that could really happen. It’s about daily life in a place called Rakuen (paradise). I think the problems presented in this game will be very familiar to us in the real world.”
Co-founder and programmer Akira Mitsuhashi added, “This title was Hiroco’s idea, so Hiroco is the key person for this project. And I listen to Hiroco whenever she has questions, and we come up with a vairety of ideas together.”
