NBA 2K24 was recently announced, with 2K and Visual Concepts coming that in a series first, this year’s instalment will support cross-platform multiplayer across PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Beyond that, the upcoming basketball sim is also promising some intriguing gameplay improvements on the court itself.
That will primarily come in the form of the new ProPLAY technology, which 2K describes as “a groundbreaking new technology that directly translates NBA footage into NBA 2K24 gameplay.” According to 2K, the new animations powered by ProPLAY will bring about “a generational leap in authenticity”.
That said, the new ProPLAY tech will only be featured in the game’s PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, so those playing on last-gen consoles, Nintendo Switch, or PC – which won’t have parity with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions – will miss out. New details on ProPLAY will be coming later in the summer.
NBA 2K24 launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
