Gunfire Games’ Remnant 2 is coming soon, but those who purchased the Ultimate Edition gain three days of early access. With several revamps to world generation and Classes, now known as Archetypes, players can expect quite a lot at release, but what about after?
Three DLC packs are in the works, and though more details have yet to be revealed, they will release within one year of the game’s launch. Speaking to WCCF Tech, design director John Pearl said there will be more info on DLC later but that the team will support the game “well after launch with updates.”
Principal designer Ben Cureton added, “On the progression side, besides just balance patches, we also want to include as many useful quality of life (QOL) features as we can. Of course, balance and QOL stuff would be totally free of charge.”
As for cross-platform play, Pearl said it’s “not something we’re talking about right now.” It could arrive post-launch in a free update, like Remnant: From the Ashes, which received crossplay support for PC and Xbox. Time will tell, so stay tuned.
Remnant 2 launches on July 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Check out our feature here for more details on what to expect.
