Starting Monday, July 10, Paramount Plus subscribers can watch Emily, a biographical drama focusing on the life of Emily Brontë. Written and directed by Golden Globe-winning actress Frances O’Connor, Emily stars Sex Education alum Emma Mackey as the titular character. The movie premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and grossed almost $4 million during its theatrical release. The cast includes Alexandra Dowling (The Musketeers), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Haunting of Hill House), Amelia Gething (The Spanish Princess), Fionn Whitehead (The Duke), Adrian Dunbar (Line of Duty), and Gemma Jones (Gentleman Jack).
On Friday, July 14, the streamer will also drop the Goliath premiere, an upcoming documentary on iconic professional basketball player Wilt Chamberlain’s intricate life. Chamberlain played for the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Lakers during his NBA career, spanning from 1959 to 1973. The documentary takes an in-depth look at Chamberlain’s numerous struggles, both on and off the court, including conflicts with his contemporaries, relentless criticism of his performance, and his larger-than-life personal endeavors. By delving into archival footage, Goliath will shed light on Chamberlain’s profound impact on American history.
