Following the announcements of the Meta Quest 3 and other games like Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice, the final reveal of yesterday's Meta Quest Gaming Showcase was Asgard's Wrath 2.
Once again developed by Sanzaru Games (known for the Sly Cooper franchise, they were acquired by Facebook three years ago to be a part of Oculus Studios), it is a direct sequel to 2019's acclaimed action game.
Asgard's Wrath 2 sees the Cosmic Guardian (the main character) busy pursuing the Trickster God Loki into Egypt, where players will have to defeat Egyptian gods, monsters, and warriors to prevent Loki's goal to unravel the fabric of the universe.
Sanzaru is attempting to deliver a massive triple-A action RPG in VR. According to the studio, the main campaign alone will require over 60 hours to be completed. Then there are various types of side content like temples and caves as well as a separate mode called The Uncharted Rift. This mode, inspired by rogue-lite games, will test the player's ability to survive as long as possible in procedurally generated dungeons. All kinds of loot gained from the Uncharted Rift can then be carried back to the main campaign. The mode also features asynchronous online multiplayer elements, allowing players to send their character to aid or hinder other players. Either way, you'll get extra loot by participating in the asynchronous online of The Uncharted Rift.
In the main campaign, the developers confirmed that the Cosmic Guardian will possess four mortal heroes, each one with their own powers and story. The first one is called Abraxas and he's seeking revenge against Sakhmet, the daughter of the sun god Ra.
