The hit beat ’em up revival Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is getting a new Dimension Shellshock DLC later this year, adding a new game mode, character colours and new playable fighters.
The Neutrinos – teenagers from Dimension X – gatecrash the Turtles’ pizza party to enlist them for help in defeating Shredder’s latest diabolical plan: to conquer the multiverse. Needless to say, the half-shelled heroes leap right into the inter-dimensional portal to take the fight to Shredder once more.
On their travels they’ll meet and team up with new heroes including Usagi Yojimbo, a samurai rabbit who will hop between dimensions alongside the Turtles. More playable fighters will be revealed soon.
Also coming in the DLC is a new game mode, some new tracks by Tee Lopes, and the ability to switch to more colour palettes.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge launched last year to plenty of praise, as the latest retro beat ’em up revival from Dotemu, with Tribute Games developing. In our Shredder’s Revenge review, Ade said, “I’ve been eagerly anticipating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge ever since it was announced. My lofty expectations were ridiculously sky high and surely a bar that could never be reached. So, it is a statement of the game’s quality that it exceeded even my wildest dreams. This is the best scrolling beat ‘em up since Streets of Rage 4 and in the top ten of all time. A nostalgia-injected nunchuck whack of love to the brain, Shredder’s Revenge It is not to be missed. Cowabunga indeed.”
