Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games announced the first on Wednesday. The update adds a new playable character, game mode, and more.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge DLC, Dimension Shellshock, was revealed in a new trailer that teases what’s to come. In the trailer, the four turtles are seen jumping into a portal, where they’re transported to a futuristic world filled with new areas.
The DLC is expected to release in 2023, but no official release date has been revealed. More information will come soon, according to Dotemu and Tribute Games.
The trailer also reveals the playable Usagi Miyamoto, a samurai rabbit from Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo. Usagi has crossed over with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in both their comic and cartoon history. In the game, he can be seen fighting enemies in what looks to be a feudal Japan setting.

Alongside the new character, the DLC also promises a new game mode. Additional color palettes for the turtles will also be included, with players able to change each turtle’s hue. New music tracks are also set to be included in the DLC.
Despite no plans for DLC when the game launched last year, Shredder’s Revenge has been so well-received by fans that support has continued. In December, another update added custom modes and video filters to the side-scrolling action brawler.
is already on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and — most recently — PlayStation 5. Even though it launched on Game Pass, Shredder’s Revenge managed to sell over a million copies in a week and, by October 2022, helped Dotemu reach $22 million in global revenue.
