Can you play Harry Potter: Magic Awakened on PS5 and PS4? The new collectible card game-inspired Hogwarts adventure has taken PC and mobile by storm since it launched globally in late June, topping Apple and Google's respective app stores and attracting enormous attention on social media. But many have been pondering an all-important question: can you play it on PS5 and PS4?
Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is the latest free-to-play effort from Chinese juggernaut NetEase, under license from Warner Bros and Portkey Games. The title, a CCG-style game, sees you collecting cards inspired by different spells from the Wizarding World, and using them in real-time strategy-esque skirmishes. It features online competitive duels for two to four players, as well as a full single player campaign, minigames, and a roguelite-inspired PvE mode.
Unfortunately, the game is currently only available on PC and mobile, and there are no confirmed plans to bring it to consoles, like PS5 and PS4. Due to the nature of the gameplay, it does skew towards mouse or touchscreen controls, although with some smart user interface alterations there's no reason why it couldn't eventually be adapted to a more traditional controller, like the DualSense and DualShock 4.
We'll pay attention to forthcoming announcements and update this page if any plans for a console version are eventually unveiled. Portkey Games has been making a big push into console recently with the release of Hogwarts Legacy and the upcoming Quidditch Champions, while NetEase has slowly been bringing its catalogue to consoles, with releases like Naraka: Bladepoint.
