PSVR2 is enjoying a great couple of days, and it’s been topped off by word that the acclaimed Wanderer will be remade for Sony’s next-gen headset. This virtual reality classic will feature new gameplay and mechanics when it arrives on PS5 in 2024, including the ability to “swim, jump, crouch, climb, zipline, and swing your way through time”.
Executive producer Samantha Ramlu explained: “By harnessing cutting edge PSVR2 haptic technology, you can indulge in an unparalleled level of immersion with proximity and context-sensitive haptics, finely tuned to enhance your experience to the fullest extent possible.”
She added: “Discover rich worlds, encounter heart-pounding action and solve mind-bending puzzles as you rewrite the past to reshape the future, finding yourself thrust headfirst into thrilling stories from history in an epic time travel adventure like no other.”
The trailer embedded shows a pretty substantial graphical upgrade, but it’s all the new gameplay opportunities that truly stick out. We can’t help but wonder why Sony has decided to save this announcement for the PS Blog today considering it probably would have gone down well during its recent PS Showcase. Nevertheless, the announcement is the main thing, and the game’s looking great.
