Screen Rant can exclusively present the trailer for the upcoming action thriller The Runner, which will be released in theaters on August 19 and through digital and On Demand August 23. The Saban Films production, which was directed by renowned acting coach Michelle Danner and written by Jason Chase Tyrrell, stars up-and-comer Edouard Philipponnat as a high school drug dealer with a lot on his plate.
Philipponnat (who recently turned heads in House of Gucci) plays Aiden, a student with a booming drug business who seemingly has it all. But he stands to lose everything from his cash and car to his girlfriend and his freedom once his mother turns him over to the police. Detective Wall (Cameron Douglas) makes Aiden an offer he can't refuse: set up the dangerous dealer known as Local Legend (Eric Balfour, from The Offer and Six Feet Under) or be tried as an adult and go to prison.
