Double XP is back in RuneScape this week, just in time to prepare for therelease of Necromancy in early August. The team has also extended the logout timer and issued a number of fixes.
When RuneScape does double XP, you will be able to choose 48 hours within the event period to get the extra rewards, or trade them in if you don't want to use all of them. This time, you'll be able to start using those hours on Friday, July 28th, through Monday, August 7th. If you do want to trade an hour of your double XP time with Nic the Trader for additional rewards, take note that the credits will not carry over between Double XP events, so you'll have to spend them all by August 7th or they'll disappear.
August 7th is also the day the big Necromancy update will go live, so not only is the team giving you bonuses, they've also provided a guide to prepare for Necromancy. It's essentially a checklist to let you know whether you are in a good position to start with the big update, well prepared, or what they call “ready for everything”.
There are a series of practical changes this week, including a doubled logout timer for those with Jagex Accounts. This has been a requested feature, and will now log you out after 10 minutes of idle time, which is double the old timer. this way you won't have to worry about cutting it too close if you have to step away.
Construction gets a few fixes, including a redesign of Protean Planks to bring them in line with other Protean resources. The Dead and Buriedfinal sendoff for the Fort Forthinry season also gets some additional tweaks and fixes to keep things operational as that season winds down.
