The final Xbox Live Games with Gold titles have been announced
Microsoft has revealed August 2023’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles, the final two to be offered.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S subscribers will be able to claim Blue Fire and Intertial Drift.
Both titles are usually priced at $19.99, and both can be claimed between August 1 and August 31, after which point the Games with Gold service will end entirely.
Blue Fire’s description asks players to “embark on a journey to explore temples filled with 3D platforming challenges, battle wild enemies, and go on side quests”.
Intertial Drift’s description, meanwhile, reads: “Drive through a 90s retro future in this arcade racing game that leverages a unique handling model and twin-stick drift mechanices. Choose from 16 unique cars across 20 wild tracks to tear through the neon streets.”
July’s Games with Gold titles are Darkwood (which expires on July 31) and When the Past Was Around (which expires on August 15).
Microsoft has announced that Games with Gold will end on September 1, and will be replaced with Xbox Game Pass Core, which begins on September 14.
Priced at $9.99 per month (the same price at Xbox Live Gold) or $59.99 per year, it will offer subscribers access to Xbox multiplayer gaming, a library of over 25 games and exclusive member deals.
The Game Pass Core launch line-up will include access to the likes of Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Ori & The Will of the Wisps, Fable Anniversary, Doom Eternal and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
Players will still to be able to access any games they previously redeemed through Games with Gold as long as they remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member.
Regardless of subscription status, any Xbox 360 titles redeemed via Games with Gold in the past will be kept in a player’s library.
