We're so used to writing headlines like, 'Elden Ring player beats toughest boss in the game with their feet while upside down', but today we're changing things up and looking at the Fallout 4 community.
One player, fresh out of the vault, frantically searching for their son, is exploring the wastelands without attacking a single enemy. Instead, they let the enemies hurt themselves by reflecting their attacks. It's slow, meandering, and painstakingly difficult, but midnightvalkyre is persevering all the same.
When asked why they're making Fallout 4 so difficult for themselves, midnightvalkyre simply replied, "I just felt like it."
It all started with a post asking the community to wish them luck on their playthrough, with a clip attached of several raiders unloading countless magazine clips into them as they stood and let every bullet pierce their squishy flesh. Eventually, the satisfying ping of a projectile flinging back and instantly killing a raider clicked - that's the run. Take some damage, heal a lot, and eventually, the enemy will kill themselves by accident.
A day later, still at the Museum of Freedom, they shared an update with another new clip. This time, we see them wearing power armour and standing perfectly still while a raider swings a pool cue at them over and over and over again, even making jabs about how they're "still kicking", as exhausted as midnightvalkyre must be.
Things amp up a day later when midnightvalkyre stands face-to-face with the Mirelurk Queen, armed with nothing but a hook. Of course, they can't use it in combat. But it does let them reflect damage, slowly but surely withering the Queen's health down. Unfortunately, the clip doesn't have a happy ending - one swing and they crumple into the ground. But they did pull it off later.
