Cyberpunk Edgerunners is extraordinary. If you haven’t watched Netflix’s anime adaptation yet, you should rectify that immediately; it’s wonderfully animated and extremely dark – as you’d perhaps expect from a series inspired by CD Projekt RED’s dystopian sandbox game. While this doesn’t explicitly confirm a second season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which was originally intended as a standalone storyline, the success of the series does suggest we may get something similar – even if it perhaps features a new cast of characters. Edgerunners was miles better than the game itself. But if the next series isn't an anime hy Japanese studio, then there is no hope at all.
I'm not against another studio creating their own tale in that world. But a high bar has been set for whomever they are, edgerunners was a classic.
