The new episode of Screen Junkies' Honest Trailers series mocks The Witcher season 2 and its setup of endless spinoffs for Netflix. Henry Cavill leads the cast of the fantasy drama as Geralt of Rivia, a magically enhanced monster hunter who travels through the medieval landscape known as The Continent taking out various threats and coming to terms with his destiny as the protector of Cirilla, the crown princess of Cintra. The Witcher season 2 follows Geralt and Ciri as they journey to his childhood home of Kaer Morhen in an effort to keep her safe from Nilfgaardian and demonic forces and train her for the fights ahead, all the while Geralt's love Yennefer of Vengerberg struggles to regain her magic powers.
Alongside Cavill, the cast for The Witcher is led by Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Eamon Farren as Nilfgaardian commander Cahir, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold and Joey Batey as traveling bard Jaskier. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski's books of the same name, the series has proven to be a smash hit for Netflix since its debut in late 2019, earning back-to-back renewals and spawning two completed spinoffs. With one spinoff, the prequel miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin, gearing up to release later this year, fans of the fantasy world won't go without Witcher content for long.
