In a satisfying new cover, Jean Grey is givingWolverine a taste of his own medicine. The upcoming X Deaths of Wolverine #5features a variant cover by Phil Jimenez, which turns the tables on a familiar scene. Instead of Logan killing Jean with his claws, the iconic heroine has found some of her own to use against him.
Wolverine has been locked in an on-again off-again relationship with Jean for a long time and sometimes he has had to make some tough decisions. He's been the cause of her death a few times, sometimes awakening the Phoenix and other times ending the reign of the Phoenix. Now, new cover art for his latest struggle reveals that his past actions could be haunting him in full force.

X Deaths of Wolverine #5 has the creative team of Benjamin Percy, Federico Vicentini, Dijjo Lima, Tom Muller, and Cory Petit. The issue — which will come in week 10 of the dual series (X Deaths of Wolverine and X Lives of Wolverine) — promises a showdown between Wolverine and himself. A newly revealed variant cover also poses an intriguing conflict: what if Jean did what Wolverine has done to her so many times? Jean's power takes clawed form in this epic X-Men cover art from Phil Jimenez.
The cover features Wolverine doubled over as Jean releases power resembling claws right through his back. This imagery is incredibly similar to New X-Men #148 which was published in 2003. In that issue, Logan and Jean are stranded in space, heading towards the sun and he is forced to make a tough decision. As she seems to be dying, he ends her pain and carries her, facing the sun head-on. However, in New X-Men #150 it is revealed that his healing factor keeps him alive
