After becoming a bigger hit than anyone ever expected, HBO's TV adaptation of The Last of Us has been nominated for 24 Emmy Awards. With the ceremony set to take place across 9th and 10th September 2023, the show itself as well as many of its leading actors are in contention to win big. The TV series will be up against the likes of Succession and The White Lotus, which scooped up 27 and 23 nominations respectively. What makes the nominations for The Last of Us even more noteworthy is this is the first time a live-action video game adaptation has been considered for major awards from a Hollywood body. The Emmy Awards covers TV shows released between June 2022 and May 2023.

Well deserved. I dont like much current tv output, but this was obviously finely crafted and I believe it deserves recognition.
