The Last of Us Part 2 composer Gustavo Santaolalla has seemingly let slip that an “enhanced version” of the game is in development at Naughty Dog.
Santaolalla, who also composed the original game and the franchise’s TV adaptation for HBO, mentioned that a new version of Part 2 is in the works during an interview with Blender.
During the conversation, one of the interviewers expressed his delight at playing the game and finding out that Santaolalla has a cameo in it. In the section in question, which can be seen in the video below, the Argentinian musician can be found playing a song with a ronroco.
According to Spanish language website Vandal, Santaolalla then revealed that a “new version” of the game is in the works in which players will be able to “make [him] play certain tracks”, before adding that he wasn’t allowed to reveal any more information.

The Last of Us Part 2, which was released for PS4 in June 2020, received a PS5 performance patch a year later .
It was claimed last year that Naughty Dog was working on a director’s cut of The Last of Us Part 2.
A remake of the original The Last of Us was released last September, a few months before the release of the first season of HBO’s adaptation, which covers the events of that game.
On Wednesday, The Last of Us received 24 nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards, which was just three short of the frontrunner for this year’s ceremony, fellow HBO show Succession.
An updated version of The Last of Us Part 2 could conceivably be released to coincide with the arrival of the second season of the TV series, although that might not air for a couple of years, one of the show’s stars recently
