Given the global popularity of The Last of Us following the TV show, it stands to reason we’ll probably get an updated version of The Last of Us: Part 2 at some point. This is because the game is currently only available on the PS4, and we suspect Sony is going to eventually want a native version for the PS5 as well as PC.
In a Spanish interview, composer Gustavo Santaolalla may have hinted at exactly that. If you recall, during the opening stages of the sequel, you’ll see the musician playing a banjo as you walk through the Jackson settlement, but you couldn’t interact with him. Santaolalla said that “in the new editions you can make me play certain themes and, well, I can’t say anything else”.
The composer went on to make a signature motion with his hand, suggesting he’s under NDA. This would, to us, imply that Naughty Dog is currently working on an updated version of The Last of Us: Part 2, which has been rumoured before. It does make sense, although fans may not be too thrilled at the prospect of another re-release from Naughty Dog following The Last of Us: Part 1.
Obviously this is all conjecture based on a fairly vague Spanish interview, but it does make sense that a hypothetical re-release would come with some bonus features and Easter eggs, and making Santaolalla’s cameo more interactive would certainly fit the bill on that front. What do you reckon? Would you play The Last of Us: Part 2 again? Let us know in the comments section below.

GOAT game without a doubt but we can't keep just re-releasing everything. I understand that they may as well do it
