HoYoverse has just dropped a brand new Honkai Star Rail trailer, dubbed Myriad Celestia. It drops some pretty big lore here and there, so if you’re interested in the overarching story for the game, you should check it out.

The trailer itself is confusing, as we don’t know who the narrator is. She seems important, with quite an authoritative voice, but who is she? Anyway, before we get into the lore, let’s talk about the visuals.

It’s no secret that HoYoverse creates visually stunning games, and they don’t cheap out on the trailers either. The Honkai Star Rail Myriad Celestia trailer features gorgeous art and storybook-style animations. 

If you’re familiar with the game, you know each character aligns with a certain path. The narrator brushes her hand across a deck of cards lying on a table. She suddenly grabs a card, with the next frame displaying the name of a path and what we assume is an Aeon’s name. Aeons are basically celestial Gods in this universe.

So, let’s take a closer look at these names.

Our guess is that these names belong to the Aeons, and the latter is the path they align with. We’re treated to a short snippet of different beings after each title, but no more information is given after that. 

Interestingly, if you turn the subtitles on during the trailer on YouTube, there’s actually some additional information included. Certain words are followed by other words in brackets – we like to think this is intentional to ramp up the mystery.
