The menus in Capcom's fighter can be a bit muddled and confusing, so it's understandable if you're not sure how to toggle between Modern or Classic controls. Fortunately, we're going to help you to configure the game exactly how you want it below.
If you're just blitzing your way through the traditional gameplay in Fighting Grounds, then you can select a control type when you pick your character. You'll find the option to pick between Modern or Classic beneath Costume or Colour in the Character settings.
From the main menu, push the Options button to bring up the Multi Menu and select Options > Controls. From here you can universally assign the Player 1 Control Settings and Player 2 Control Settings. You'll also find the option for Avatar Battle Control Type, which will alter the control scheme in World Tour. Keep in mind, however, that you'll need to have completed the first few missions in World Tour before you can change to Classic if that's what you want to do.
You'll also need to independently setup your control preferences for online play, in the Battle Hub and beyond.
