The Final Battle is Here, as Icecrown Citadel Opens in Wrath of the Lich King Classic
For those who’ve been waiting for the chance to face the Lich King himself in World of Warcraft Classic , the time is now. Blizzard takes us into thenewly-opened Icecrown Citadel, including details on the raid and its bosses, and some discounts to mark the arrival.
Wrath of the Lich King Classic has been out for about a year, so this is an appropriate update for Classic. Icecrown Citadel and the three Frozen Halls dungeons arrived this week with the Fall of the Lich King update along with the Shadowmourne Legendary questline for Paladins, Death Knights, and Warriors, and the random dungeon finder.
In order to rise to the top of the Citadel and face the Lich King himself at the Frozen throne, you will have to make it through 11 other bosses first. If you have what it takes, you'll be able to climb further and further in order to eventually put an end to the Lich King's plans. For most in Classic, this is a return journey, so you may remember just how to do this, or maybe you need a refresher.
The bosses you’ll face on your way include Lord Marrowgar and Lady Deathwhisper, Sindragosa, Professor Putricide, Festergut, Rotgut, Blood Prince Council, Valithria Dreamwalker, and Blood-Queen Lana'thel.
Finally, step before the Frozen Throne and get ready for a tough battle.
Blizzard has put a couple of Wrath of the Lich King Classic upgrades on sale to mark the update. The Northrend Heroic and Northrend Epic upgrades are both at a 50% discount. There's also a 30% discount on services like faction and race changes, name changes, and character transfers.
