The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to be an impressive game even over ten years since its original launch, mostly thanks to the work of modders who have improved gameplay mechanics and visuals considerably over the years.
YouTuber Digital Dreams shared today a new video showcasing how the fifth entry in the series by Bethesda can look in 2024 with a vast selection of mods, over 3100 mods, including the Complete RT shader by NiceGuy, an advanced screen space ray tracing shader that lets users add global illumination with effects like Diffuse Illumination and Specular Reflection, ambient occlusion, and glossy reflections to any game.
With Bethesda hard at work on the sixth entry in the series, it is unlikely we are going to see a proper The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim remake that will take advantage of modern technology to present the game's world like never before. The game, however, is already in a better spot than when it was released, as it was remastered back in 2016 with the Special Edition, which includes the base game, all of the expansions, remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and more. Another version of the game, the Anniversary Edition, was launched in 2021 to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary with new content and some gameplay tweaks.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch.
