The Crackpet Show is a roguelite shoot-'em-up we'd honestly never heard of before today, but it looks to share a lot in common with Happy Tree Friends. That web series from yesteryear about cutesy animals meeting their maker in deeply upsetting ways is crossing paths with this indie game for its console debut, and it really does look like a perfect match.
On 27th September, The Crackpet Show: Happy Tree Friends Edition will arrive on PS5 and PS4. The game itself has you playing as a cuddly little animal, competing in the titular TV show for fame and fortune. The gameplay looks chaotic, colourful, and violent, which you can easily say for Happy Tree Friends too. The collaboration brings multiple characters from the web series into the game, with unique death animations, effects and music from the show, and more Easter eggs for fans.
While it's a great tonal and aesthetic fit, we'll have to wait and see if the game is any good. What do you think of The Crackpet Show: Happy Tree Friends Edition? Let us know in the comments section below.
Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.
