Bandai Namco has spilled loads of details on the upcoming Closed Beta Test for Tekken 8. If you happened to be a part of the previous Closed Network Test, then you'll be especially interested in knowing that sweeping gameplay adjustments have been implemented.
This includes rather significant tweaks to how the new Heat system works, power crush moves, and overall character balance. Even dashes and back dashes have been made «easier» to perform. It honestly all sounds quite drastic, but we suppose the game is in a near constant state of change right now, ahead of its January release date. You can find the full list of changes here, on Bandai Namco's official site.
What's more, three additional characters will be playable in October's beta. The recently revealed Raven, Azucena, and Feng Wei will be joining the roster, which brings it to an impressive 19 fighters. Peruvian stage 'Ortiz Farm' will also be added.
And then on top of all this, the developer has confirmed — via its live presentation at Tokyo Game Show — that Panda will return in the full release of Tekken 8. We imagine a trailer will be coming very soon.
Will you be taking part in the Tekken 8 closed beta next month? What do you make of the adjustments? Pick a new main in the comments section below.
Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
I remember Mokujin, Panda and King being my favorite fighters in Tekken 3. Seeing Panda feels nostalgic.
Wonderful addition to the roster!
Now we just need Gon and I'll be happy.
