Bandai Namco has confirmed that Tekken 8's first post-launch DLC character, Eddy Gordo, will be added to the roster in early April. While Tekken 8 is already a success, Bandai Namco is maintaining the game's longevity with a season pass of post-launch DLC, expanding its roster of fighters.
The first post-launch DLC character for Tekken 8 is the returning Eddy Gordo. Debuting in Tekken 3, Eddy has been a mainstay of the franchise, appearing in every single mainline Tekken game to date. Eddy is the series' resident Capoeira martial arts master, and he retains this fighting style for Tekken 8. While Eddy was confirmed to be DLC shortly before the game's launch, Bandai Namco has nows provided the exact date of when players can pick him up, with fans not needing to wait long either.
In a new Tekken 8 trailer, Bandai Namco revealed that Eddy Gordo has two different release dates, with early access players getting him on April 1, and the official release date being on April 4. Owners of Tekken 8's Playable Character Year 1 Pass will get the chance to play with Eddy three days ahead of everyone else. The Playable Character Year 1 Pass is included for players who purchased Tekken 8's Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack. Eddy Gordo's addition coincides with the release of the version 1.03.01 patch.
Eddy Gordo's trailer gave fans insight into his classic Capoeira fighting style, compared to past Tekken titles. Eddy is a character with tricky gameplay that relies on fast strikes and different stances. The trailer shows him having a special intro with Nina Williams, along with some sort of special property that involves him building up wind. Eddy's Rage Art has him summoning wind, trapping his opponent in a storm, and kicking them while spectral figures cheer him on.
With Eddy's addition to the roster, there are three characters left to be revealed in Tekken 8's first year DLC pass. Leaks from earlier this year suggested Tekken 8's DLC will contain
