Bandai Namco has been pretty frequent with its trailers for Tekken 8, showcasing various fighters on the roster and their abilities. With no launch date set (aside from releasing before April 2024), fans have inquired about a possible beta before launch, which series producer Katsuhiro Harada has said to be patient about. As it turns out, the playtest could be coming soon, according to a new SteamDB listing.
Updated roughly six hours ago, the listing has art and logos from the fighting game with the letters “CNT,” which probably means Closed Network Test. The developer will likely host sign-ups for participants of the same and then eventually roll out closed and open betas in the coming months.
If legitimate, a Closed Network Test will allow players to try out the game’s rollback netcode and maybe crossplay. Stay tuned for any announcements in the meantime. Tekken 8 is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
