Bloodborne is nearly ten years old, which terrifies me as much as it should terrify you. And for years, fans have been asking for a 60fps update. First, it was for the PS4 Pro, now it's for the PS5. In that time, rumours and leaks have pointed to remasters and even remakes, but all fans really want is a current-gen port. So of course, one has managed to make their very own.
As reported by VG247, Souls modder Lance McDonald released a video of Bloodborne running at 1080p, 60fps on a PS5. It's hard to describe it, but picture a really smooth Bloodborne running like Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring. You can also just watch the video below. They show the higher framerate off with Father Gascoigne's boss fight and a trip through the woods. Smoother also means everything looks faster, which in Bloodborne, is pretty fast.

It's unclear why Bloodborne hasn't had a current-gen update. Every PlayStation showcase is rumoured to include it, fans are still hoping for a PC port, and hot off the heels of Elden Ring and Demon's Souls' successes, it just makes sense. But looking back at the original Dark Souls, there's probably a good reason for it. Modders managed to add 60fps support on PC with DSFix, but this in turn broke a lot of the game. Certain jumps became impossible, weapon degradation sped up, and sitting at a bonfire could glitch out--it took a remaster to iron out the kinks.
We only see a minuscule fraction of Bloodborne in this video, so it's possible that key parts of the game don't work as intended with a higher framerate. Still, modders are getting it to work, and if DSFix is anything to go by, people will suffer the bugs to enjoy a smoother
