Bandai Namco has said that Tekken 8 is set to have a much bigger at launch than its predecessor did, and many of the characters that will populate that roster have already been unveiled. Plenty, of course, have yet to take the stage up until now, though it seems at least a few unannounced characters in the game’s roster may have leaked.
Tekken 8’s Closed Network Test went live on PS5 last week (and will become available for Xbox and PC later today), and using Cheat Engine, users have been able to dig into its files and spot references of a number of characters that will apparently be included in the game’s roster (via Reddit).
While a number of these are characters who’ve already been officially confirmed for Tekken 8 by Bandai Namco – including the likes of Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, King, Claudio Serafino, Lars Alexandersson, and Leroy Smith, among others – you’ll also spot some names that haven’t yet been spoken about by the developer in an official capacity.
In total, six unannounced characters are mentioned- Shaheen, Raven, Zafina, Yoshimitsu, Steve Fox, and Alisa Bosconovitch. Whether are not these are all the unannounced characters that Tekken 8 will be confirming before its launch or just a selection of them remains to be seen.
Tekken 8 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A release date hasn’t yet been announced, but Bandai Namco has said it’ll be out before April next year. New details on the game will also be coming at Gamescom in less than a month.
