For the purposes of this guide, we'll be categorising materials by rarity. Generally speaking, common materials can be found with ease, uncommon materials might be slightly harder to find and may only pop up in certain areas, and rare materials likely require the completion of a specific side quest or notorious mark hunt.
Common materials can be dropped by regular foes as well as bosses, and can also be found scattered throughout the world, either in the form of sparkles on the ground or in treasure chests. Common materials are used all the way through the game, and you'll likely amass large quantities of them very quickly.
Steelsilk is dropped in bulk by humanoid enemies, as well as humanoid bosses. It can also be found out in the world and in chests.
Wyrrite is perhaps the most common material in the entire game. It's found all over the world in large quantities, and is often lumped in with quest rewards.
Bloody Hide is frequently dropped by monsters, and is typically used in the crafting of belts or vambraces.
Magicked Ash is found throughout the world and in chests. It's also dropped by enemies that use some form of magic, or are more immaterial in nature.
