The end of May and practically all of June brought a cavalcade of showcases and events featuring major announcements and reveals by a number of publishers across the industry, but as always, there’s more stuff waiting in the wings. Next up is Gamescom, which will be returning as a hybrid digital and in-person event in Cologne this year, kicking off with Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 22. And with not too long left until the event rolls around, new information about it is beginning to trickle through.
For instance, it has been confirmed that Xbox and Bethesda will be in attendance at this year’s Gamescom showfloor. The same was announced by the official Gamescom page on Twitter, though no further details were revealed on what the extent of their involvement will be and what sort of content we might expect from them- though details are coming “soon”.
Recently, Xbox was also confirmed to be one of many exhibitors that will be involved in Tokyo Game Show in September later in the year.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Nintendo, too, will be in attendance at Gamescom 2023– though on the flipside, Sony will be skipping the event for a second year in a row.
