Dreamer (AKA Nia Nal) debuted as an original character on The CW's Supergirl in 2018. She is portrayed by actress Nicole Maines, who has found herself more integrated into the world of comics as of late. Nia is the descendant of Nura Nal, also known as Dream Girl. While she wasn't the first transgender character in DC Comics' history, she was the first transgender superhero on television thanks to the show. Now, after a brief debut in DC Pride in 2021, she will play an even bigger role.

The creative team behind Jon Kent's hit series is joining forces with Nicole Maines to tell the next chapter of Dreamer's journey. Superman: Son of Kal-El #13 has the creative team of Tom Taylor, Nicole Maines, and Clayton Henry. Within this issue, the reporter Nia Nal will be joining forces with the son of one of this universe's top reporters. This will be a must-see story for fans of the character who have been wanting her to have a more prominent role within DC comics.
