Super Smash Bros. fans are feeling nostalgic, hoping that the next game brings back elements from Brawl. More specifically, fans want to see aspects of Subspace Emissary make their way into the next Smash game, having been absent from the series since 2008.
This comes as Smash fans look back on Subspace Emissary's enemy designs, appreciating the wild designs that never got used again. Even though Nintendo has since ditched them, fans still appreciate them fifteen years later, prompting them to share other aspects of the iconic story mode that they'd love to see make a return.

"These look like they're from Final Fantasy or something," says Reddit user pewisamood, sharing some screenshots of the classic enemies. "Brawl is super underrated."
"Favorite Smash mode hands down," agrees MrSnuffle_. "Nothing can beat the joy of playing the story mode over and over. I hope they do something similar in the next game."
