Super Mario RPG Remake Has Removed Mario's Peace Sign
Super Mario RPG's Nintendo Switch remake has removed the peace sign that Mario makes at the end of a battle and replaced it with a simple wave of his cap.
When Nintendo first showed off the Super Mario RPG remake, it seemed to be quite a faithful translation of the original game (albeit with a controversial art style) that didn't look to change too much about the 1996 classic. As we get closer to its release, however, more and more changes are being spotted by fans, such as Mallow's Psychopath ability being renamed to "Thought Peek".

The latest change that's been spotted in the remake is that Mario no longer makes a cheeky little peace sign whenever he wins a battle. Instead, as pointed out by Twitter user SuperMarioOOC85, he now takes his cap off his head and waves it in the air. Mario's peace sign being removed can actually be spotted in one of the first trailers for the game but, judging by the 13,000 likes on SuperMarioOOC85's tweet it's a detail that has only just been noticed by a lot of fans.
Mario's peace sign being removed from the game might seem like a bit of a strange and minor change but it's one that has some history behind it and something that's been happening in the series for some time now. Mario used to make that peace sign quite a lot in games, most notably in Super Mario 64 and the original release of Super Mario RPG, but, over time, Nintendo has stopped the plumber doing it in other games and even removed it from the DS release of Super Mario 64.
