Two weeks ahead of the Super Bowl, Mattel revealed it would be releasing Barbies, Little People sets, and UNO cards themed after whoever won the Big Game. Not just that, but the toymakers showcased images of all products, for both teams, and opened pre-orders even though only the winning team's items would ever see the light of day. Now the Super Bowl is over, Mattel's Kansas City Chiefs collection will become a reality, and pre-orders for the San Francisco 49ers products have been canceled.
That's right, as if losing the Super Bowl isn't a bitter enough pill to swallow, 49ers fans the world over now have to come to terms with the fact their team's Barbie will never become a reality. Well, unless Mattel makes this an annual thing and the 49ers win the Super Bowl in the future. For now, only the Chiefs have their own Barbie, Little People set, and UNO cards, and pre-orders for all three items are still available.
The Kansas City Chiefs Barbie has brown hair, black face paint under her eyes, and a big red foam finger on one of her hands. Oh, and she's wearing a Chiefs jersey too, of course. You can pre-order the Chiefs' limited edition Barbie through the link in the box below for $30. Pre-orders will remain available until February 25, 2024, after which point it's unlikely the doll will ever be available again.
Mattel created two dolls to celebrate Super Bowl LVIII, one for the Kansas City Chiefs and another for the San Francisco 49ers. However, only the winning team's doll became a reality and was available to buy after the big game.
Pre-orders for the Chiefs' Little People set and celebratory UNO cards will also remain open until February 25. The Little People set also costs $30, and the UNO cards are just $12. Three Chiefs players have been turned into Little People, and a super fan completes the set of four.
