Tabletop gaming enthusiasts will tell you that there's nothing quite like getting together with a few friends and going on fantastical adventures as a party — and that's exactly the kind of vibe that freshly announced PS5 title Sunderfolk is going for.
The pitch here is that up to four players can use their phones or tablets as second-screen controllers, keeping tabs on things like your character stats and inventory, while the journey unfolds on your main display. We're immediately reminded of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and its GBA-enabled co-op.
«Sunderfolk features an unfolding narrative that takes the intrepid adventuring party on a quest through the Sunderlands — starting in Arden, their idyllic hometown village, which they’ve been enlisted to save,» reads the press release.
It continues: «As they battle their way through the mines, wilderness, and labyrinths of the game’s vibrant world, players will encounter colorful characters, discover hidden secrets, and develop new collaborative strategies for defeating their enemies.»
Featuring some lovely art direction and turn-based, tactical battles, Sunderfolk could be one to watch if you're hankering for a co-op-focused adventure. We should be seeing a lot more of the project as we draw closer to its 2025 release window.

A little too much, some might say.
I am very interested in seeing how this turns out. I’m a big tabletop gamer and this looks like it might be great.
