DC Comics has announced plans for a prequel comic to the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video game. Anticipation is building for Rocksteady Studios' action-adventure game as its May release date approaches. To both build up excitement and capitalize on the game's release, DC Comics has decided to put out a Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League tie-in comic named Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum. It'll be a great opportunity to meet the squad of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark before they take on the Justice League.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was first announced in 2020, so fans have been waiting for the game for some time. The game takes its name from the popular Suicide Squad comic book, but it would be fair to say that it's also heavily inspired by Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad films. Despite the game now having a May 26 release date, much about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League remains unannounced. That leaves an opportunity for the comic to fill in some important backstory.

Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum is confirmed to be a five-issue miniseries with the first comic scheduled to be released on May 30. The first issue will be written by John Layman, best known for his work on Batman Eternal and his independent comic Chew. Art will be handled by Jesús Hervás, who has done comic work for Cyberpunk 2077, Boom's The Approach, and DC Comics' Are You Afraid of Darkseid?
