The clip came from an extended preview of the upcoming game during Sony's most recent State of Play presentation. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was initially revealed in the summer of 2020. The premise for the game was simple but effective; the minds of the main members of theJustice League have been taken over by longtime DC supervillain Brainiac, and it's up to the Suicide Squad to take them down. In the years since its initial unveiling, the developer has been gradually revealing more of the Justice League's corrupted members and how they will factor into the plot. Now fans have a better idea as to what role Wonder Woman and The Flash will play in the upcoming game.

Gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was first revealed in 2021 and the latest State of Play has expanded on this. The footage presented showed the various members of Task Force X taking on Brainiac's forces while trying to rescue Lex Luthor. The footage ends with The Flash attempting to prevent them from doing so before he is stopped by Wonder Woman who has not fallen under Brainiac's influence. With the Lasso of Truth wrapped around him, The Flash tells Wonder Woman that in order to save the world they have to kill the Justice League much to her disbelief.
