It’s time to travel down memory lane with Subway Surfers Classic. From May 13 to June 2, you can enjoy the game just as it appeared when it debuted in 2012.
With frequent additions of new characters, locales, and power-ups, Subway Surfers has undergone significant transformation. However, many of us have a particular place in our hearts for the first edition. It’s an opportunity to look back at a more straightforward period in mobile gaming and observe how far Subway Surfers has advanced.
The update is more than just a visual change. There are four characters to unlock, too. A fan-made character, Hammy-Bee, is one of them.
Each of the other three pays homage to Subway Surfers’ past: Ballerina Tricky is a favorite from the Subway Surfers animation series, Guard King is a well-liked figure from the game’s social media community, and Pixel Jake is a retro-styled rendition of the main character.
Subway Surfers is celebrating its 12th birthday and giving back to its fans with this update in a terrific way. Another benefit is that it reminds us how much mobile gaming has evolved over the last decade. Among the first games to truly popularise the endless runner genre was Subway Surfers, which is still strong today.
Apart from the traditional design and fresh characters, the Subway Surfers Classic update now brings player profiles for the first time. Player profiles let you share and monitor your game progress with pals. You can also personalize your profile with your favorite boards and personalities.
Twelve new Instagram and TikTok filters are another highlight. Use these filters to make anniversary-themed Subway Surfers material.
Thus, if you’re a game fan or want to experience a little bit of mobile gaming history, check out the Subway Surfers Classic update from May 13 to June 2 on Google Play!
