The recently released Street Fighter 6 helped Capcom see sales clock in at 74 per cent higher than the year before.
That's according to the company's financials for the three months ending June 30th, in which it reports that sales rose to ¥43.8 billion ($312.9 million) for the period. Capcom credits Street Fighter 6 – which has sold over two million copies to date – with helping to drive this increase in sales alongside the Resident Evil 4 remake. that title has sold five million units.
During the three month period, Capcom's games business shifted 13.5 million units, while its operating income almost doubled to ¥24 billion ($171.2 million).
Alongside its financials, Capcom announced its first acquisition in 13 years in graphics studio Swordcane.
