Steve Fox has been confirmed the for Tekken 8 roster, meaning the British boxer has been in every Tekken game since his introduction in Tekken 4. As you can imagine from a boxing based character, Steve Fox’s power lies in his punches and he is not holding back in his reveal trailer. Every move seems to be a variation of a boxing combo to lay opponents out.
Steve Fox has a unique backstory in that he was created in a lab using the genetic material of Nina, though she does not claim him as her son. Finding out who his parents were was Steve’s main driving force and with that gone he is now on a quest to discover new fighting techniques, and improve on his style.
Looking back on the last game, Tekken 7, we awarded it a mighty 9/10 in out review, saying: “Tekken 7 is a phenomenal fighting game experience and one I’d highly recommend. It’s by no means perfect, as the game is not without a few technical issues online, some long loading times, and minor continuity errors, yet as far as most people will be concerned, it delivers a stunning, up-to-date fighting game experience from one of the masters of arcade fighting games. A solid return to form.”
A while back, a lengthy Tekken 8 gameplay deep dive that explored new gameplay mechanics including a new heat system, modified Rage Art system that uses a common input – Rage Drive from Tekken 7 has been removed – and a recover gauge that has some common ground with the Tekken Tag Tournament games.
Tekken 8 will release on 26th January for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
