Bethesda Game Studios has announced a partnership with AMD for Starfield. While the latter is the exclusive PC partner for the upcoming open-world, sci-fi action RPG, it’s worked “hand-in-hand” to optimize for both Xbox and PC using Ryzen 7000 series CPUs and Radeon 7000 GPUs.
Jack Huynh, Senior VP and general manager of Computing and Graphics at AMD said, “These optimizations both accelerate performance and enhance the quality of your gameplay using highly multi-threaded code that both Xbox and PC players will get to take advantage of.”
Huynh believes the partnership will create a “transformational experience with more immersion, detail, and exploration.” Director Todd Howard also revealed that the team developed “all new technology” with AMD for Creation Engine 2. It also has “AMD engineers in our code base working on FSR2 image processing and upscaling, and it looks incredible.”
So while these will be visible on PC, Xbox players also benefit from the arrangement. Starfield releases on September 6th for Xbox Series X/S and PC and on day one for Game Pass. Early access starts on September 1st for Premium Edition owners.
If you’re looking to buy a physical edition, the Standard Edition on Xbox Series X/S is the best choice. On PC, it only includes a game code. Stay tuned for more details en route to its worldwide release.
