There are only a few short months until Starfield graces our Xbox consoles and PCs – but to keep us sated until then, we recently got an extended look at the game via the Xbox showcase.
Todd Howard once described it as 'Skyrim in space', and to that we say, “Yes, but more,” because it looks to be one of the most expansive games ever created.
They even roped in id Software, of DOOM fame, to help with their motion blur implementation, and we have to say the game is looking alarmingly spiffy compared to the questionable visuals of prior titles such as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
Announced back in 2018, the hype train had been steadily trundling along until the Starfield Direct showcase stoked the furnace to an inextinguishable inferno.
We got a deep-dive on what we can expect to get up to as the newest member of Constellation across the 1,000 planets in the game, and it’s safe to say it will probably keep us busy until The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out.

The Starfield release date is Wednesday 6th September 2023, the developers from Bethesda have promised.
