Starfield is an exclusive for the Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms you don’t want to miss. It’s the next major RPG release under Bethesda and a new IP of theirs in several years. After the Xbox Games Showcase, we got a big deep dive look into the game this year. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some stuff Bethesda held back. For such an ambitious game, it’s not surprising that some content had to be cut from the showcase to fit their allotted run time. Today, thanks to a report from WCCFtech, one aspect of the game that wasn’t quite touched on during the recent deep dive video showcase footage gets confirmation.
Speaking with the Kinda Funny XCast, Todd Howard revealed that there wouldn’t be any land vehicles players could make use of. It’s a bit odd seeing how this game is all about exploration and visiting planets, but it looks like you’ll have to use your own two feet or the boost pack. That’s one aspect that Todd Howard did point out during the conversation. It looks like the boost pack will act much like a regular land vehicle which means you’ll get to quickly zip around the planet using this peripheral. Additionally, that boost pack is also upgradeable through skills, but we’ll have to wait and see just how these skills will end up altering the boost functionality.
Furthermore, you’ll also find that the game will allow players to experience some low gravity for certain planets. That should help give players a bit more freedom in covering more considerable distances than if they were simply walking. Of course, this could all change after player feedback.
