The team at Endnight Games have released a new update for its latest survival horror game Sons of The Forest. Patch 01 arrives with plenty of new features and bug fixes. Released in Early Access on February 23, the sequel to the beloved The Forest will receive updates for the next six to eight months. The new Sons of The Forest update adds things like a hang glider, a new mid-game boss battle, as well as improvements and bug fixes.
Some of the biggest new features include new items to Sons of the Forest, such as that aforementioned hang glider. This will hopefully improve scaling down mountains, as you can now presumably fly down them. Another item added is the binoculars, which could aid in spotting important landmarks at a distance. The update also added a Defensive Wall Gate, as well as the ability to lock doors with sticks.

If some of the cannibal fights bore you, there’s now a mid-game boss fight if you head into the food bunker. Also, cannibals in trees can now jump down to attack you on sight, so keep your eyes peeled. Structures also play a big part of the gameplay in Sons of The Forest. With the new update, you can now grab your small structures and place them in another location. Additionally, it implemented a new structure type called the “One Sided Apex.”
Aside from physical features, there were many bugs and balancing issues fixed in this update. While they added a sleep cooldown, now there is a chance that an enemy interrupts your sleep. The patch also tweaked small features such as enemy health and weapon damage.
